High school graduation in Ried in 1972, medical training at University of Innsbruck, graduation as Doctor medicinae universae in 1979.

Post graduate training in General Hospital of the Convent of the St. Vincent Sisters in Ried im Innkreis, registration as General Practitioner in 1982.

Since 1983 practicing as a GP in own family practice, since 2004 together with Dr. Brigitte Schano Plonka as a group practice.

Since 1992 operating full Pancha Karma facility in the building used for the family practice.

Ayurvedic trainig through Mahrishi Vedic University in India and Holland since 1984.

Founding member and, until present, member of board in both “Austrian Ayurvedic Doctors` Association”and “German Ayurveda Association” (1983).

Founding Member and President of EURAMA (European Ayurveda Medical Association) since 2008 (www.eurama.net).

Co-director of German Ayurveda Academy (training centre for doctors, medical professionals and general public) (www.ayurveda-seminare.de).

Co-author of several books about Ayurveda in German language together with Dr. Ernst Schrott, Regensburg, Germany (www.vedamed.de), including a 250 page “Handbook of Ayurvedic Medicine“, books on Ayurveda and several chronic diseases, e.g. hypertension, joint pain and headaches, and a book on the effects of Transcendental Meditation.

Philanthropic activities as president of “GGL – Gemeinsam gegen Landminen” (TAL – Together against Landmines), a non profit organisation supporting landmine victims worldwide and raising the general awareness about the threats of landmines (www.landmine.at) .
